On Friday 16 December 2016, there was a landslide vote (135 to 2) by UK MP’s in favour of a bill requiring the UK Government to ratify the Istanbul Convention. This means the bill will now move to the next stage. This is a huge step forward for ending violence against women and girls.
Congratulations to all those who fought for this including Ian Blackford.

At 5.00pm on Thursday 1st December, we are organising a march from Gordon Square to 'Reclaim the Night'. We will march from Gordon Square, along the High Street and The Parade before returning to The Hub, Fassifern Road for refreshments and a social gathering.
Why are we marching?
Reclaim the Night is a campaign originally started in the early 1970's to protest against rape and other forms of violence perpetrated against women during darkness, in particular violence against women walking in public at night.
Reclaim the Night marches are normally held during the international '16 Days of Activism' campaign which takes place each year between 25 November and 10 December.
We are asking you to put your feet on the street and walk with us to promote freedom of movement for everyone at all times.
Please contact the office on 01397 705734 to find out how you can get involved in the parade and in the production of banners and placards for the parade.
